A research published in August 2024 in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine and Science in Sports establishes a strong association between physical flexibility and decreased mortality due to natural causes.
***The study was conducted for the middle age group (46 to 65) of the sample of 3139 individuals.
***The research further adds that inflexibility doesn’t mean you live for less years. But inflexibility can be associated with chronic pain, obesity, lifestyle disorders, and sedentary lifestyle. A flexible person from this age group sugfests that he/she follows a healthy lifestyle.
***It also reiterated the fact that the greater flexibility helps prevent injury.

Yoga asanas involve activation and stretching of different muscle groups and various joint movements which helps better joint health (hence less prone to joint injuries) and certainly enhanced stretching than any other physical activity.
