A yoga mat is an inseparable part of your yoga practice. You will look forward to yoga practice if your yoga teacher is good, and you’re accompanied by lovely practitioners. Your yoga mat’s quality plays an equal role too. Whether you choose to shop online or offline, please consider following seven points while purchasing your mat.
● Please go for a sticky anti-slip mat. You can check in the store by using it. Some sports outlets like Decathlon keep some yoga mats for the trial.
● Choose a mat which is firm on the floor and doesn’t fall prey to ceiling fan’s air
● Read the instructions given for cleaning it–whether you can clean/wipe it easily
● Go for a thick mat, preferrably 6mm mat, avoid a thin mat as they are not much knee friendly.
● Read the reviews and take recommendations from your teacher and other yoga participants if required.
● Choose color and print soothing to the eye. Optional but you might find your practice more satisfactory.
● You may feel it is optional but buying a good cover/bag adds convenience when you’re traveling or commuting. See that your mat cover has a zipline that goes from one round end to another instead of going for a circular opening at one end only.
